PJL T20 – Pakistan Junior League 2022 Under 19

The First-Ever PJL T20 (Pakistan Junior League) also known as Junior PSL is announced giving young talent an opportunity to show their talent and train with Legends. In this tournament under 19 players from all over the world will participate in playing this 15 days league.

In this League, 12 Cities Participated in open bidding. The Six teams with the highest bid had become part of the first-ever Junior Premier League. The PJL Draft will be held on 8 September. The Selected Players will be divided into the following 3 categories.

  1. Elite (National U-19 Players)
  2. Premier (Region Players)
  3. X-Factor (Foreign and Local Talent )

Pakistan Junior League

In PJL League, Six franchise teams from different cities will compete in a 19-match competition at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. In addition to participants, they will be selected through a draft process, while the mentors from each dugout will be legendary players.

The first-ever Pakistan Junior League (PJL) T20 tournament will be launched in Lahore on October 6 with twelve cities bidding for six franchises. Below are Teams Cities that will Participate in PJL and soon the Teams Name will be Announced. The PJL Squads will be announced after the Drafting.

Cities for Pakistan Junior League – PJLt20 2022

  1. Bahawalpur (South Punjab)
  2. Gujranwala (Upper Punjab)
  3. Gwadar (Balochistan)
  4. Hyderabad (Sindh)
  5. Mardan (KPK)
  6. Rawalpindi (Northern)

The first international junior league will feature 6 cities not currently part of the PSL, with bidders offering the highest amount being chosen.

During an interview, a PCB official Said

We have floated an open bidding process. Six cities securing the highest bids will play the first-ever PJL. The cities selected are not part of the PSL meaning the junior league will have six new cities. We are also planning to select different cities for the first-ever Women League to be announced later.

Chairman Pakistan cricket board (PCB) Mr. Ramiz Hasan Raja has announced Pakistan’s 1st ever Junior league or under-19 PSL called Pakistan junior league (PJL) and invited sponsors for auction. In a press release on Thursday, 14th of April 2022, Pakistan Cricket Board released the Request for Expressions of Interest for various available rights relating to the Twenty20 competition. The Pakistan Junior League Schedule is announced, and the tournament begins on the 6th of October 2022 to the 21st of October 2022 in Lahore.

PJL T20 2022 Announcement

PCB Charman Mr. Ramiz Hasan Raja has announced the new SiX franchise-based Under 19 Cricket tournament on the 14th of April. PJL is scheduled for this year starting from October and the Draft will be held on 08 September 2022.

A bidding process for the streaming rights has been completed. The PCB chairman has disclosed the Livestream right of all the PJL League. PTV Sports has purchased all the Streaming rights so now you can watch all the matches live at PTV sports.

The following Players have been selected from the 3000 Video entries. These players will now camp at NHPC Lahore for age verification and trials. After that the Selected players will a part of Draft on 8 September 2022.

PJL Players Age

Every Junior player wants to be a part of PJl and we have been questioned many times about the age of players selected for the Pjl League.

In the Latest Speech of PCB Director of Media and Communications, Sami Ul Hassan it is now official that the player below under 19 will be selected by a complete medical check. Get more details about Players’ age from here. The Players aged from 16 to 19 will play in the Pakistan Junior League or be born after 01 September 2003. So the Minimum age to Join Pjl league is 16 Years.

Pakistan Junior League Mentors

PCB has Officially announced that 6 Mentors. Javid Miandad (Former Pakistani Cricketer, Caption, and Head Coach of Pakistan) is announced as the Head of All the Mentors. Below is the list of all Mentors announced.

  • Shahid Afridi (Former Allrounder and Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team)
  • Darren Samy (Former Allrounder and Captain of West Indies Cricket Team, and won 2 T20 World cups)
  • Shoaib Malik (Former Pakistan Captain and Current Part of Pakistan T20 Cricket Team)
  • Imran Tahir (Former Player of South Africa)
  • Colin Munro (Former Player of New Zeland)
  • Sir Vivian Richards (Former Allrounder and Captain of West Indies Cricket Team)

When will the Pakistan Junior League Matches Starts?

The Schedule of PJL Matches will soon be Announced. But According to PCB Chairmain, the Tournament starts from 6 October 2022 till 21 October.

What will be the Age of Junior Players Selected for the League? 

According to the PCB Director of Media and Communications (Sami Ul Hassan) players under the age of 19 will be selected for this league after a complete medical age check.

When will the First Match of PJL League be played?

PCB Chairman has confirmed that the First match will be played on 6th October.
