Imran Tahir to be named as team mentor – Pakistan Junior League

Imran Tahir, a Pakistan-born South African leg-spinner, will serve as a team mentor for the Pakistan Junior League (PJL).

It has been announced by PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja that the first phase of the PJL project will be launched on 6 October 2022. As the league mentor, Javed Miandad will be assisted by Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Daren Sammy, while Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Daren Sammy will serve as team mentors. Each of them will receive a total of $50,000 (more than PKR 1 crore) in awards.

As part of this partnership, PCB was able to secure the services of Imran Tahir as a team mentor for $45,000. In this transaction, Pakistani rupees worth over a crore is involved.

Pakistani politician Imran Tahir resides in Lahore. As a spinner, he has represented the Proteas in 20 Tests, 107 One Day Internationals and 38 Twenty20 Internationals.

He hasn’t played an international match for some time, so it has been some time since he last did so. As a regular player in franchise leagues, his life revolves around them.

In the near future, PCB and PJL are expected to reach a final agreement regarding a broadcast revenue-sharing arrangement.
