All the selected players have been divided into three categories Pjl Draft.

2. Premier
3. X-factor

Elite

The players who fall into this category have either represented their national U19 team or have made a significant impact at a domestic level (age-group cricket organized by an ICC Full Member board).

Premier

Premier cricket includes players who have significant experience in age-group cricket or have played pathway cricket on behalf of their boards or regions.

X-factor

A number of Associate Member board players and promising local talent make up the X-factor.

PJL (Pakistan Junior League) is the new cricket league Announced in April 2022 and will be played by Junior Player Under the age of 19 selected across the Globe. This league will change cricket in upcoming years and this huge step by PCB is being praised by all cricket Boards.

After the 7 successful sessions of the Pakistan Super League, now Pakistan Cricket Board Introducing a New type of Cricket league for their young talent.  A new league will be based on the players, they have an Age under 19. It’ll the same kind of league as PSL, but the difference is that in this league Just under 19 players will participate across the Cricket playing nations like India England Australia South Africa Newzeland, etc.

Pakistan Junior League Draft

The PJL Player Draft date is announced. Pakistan Junior League Drafting will be held on the 8th of September 2022.  Over 3000 entries were submitted for the PJL video campaign, and 17 players were shortlisted. NHPC Lahore will now host these players for age verification and trials. Shortlisted players will be included in Thursday’s draft.

PJL Draft 2022 Player List

The process of selecting the Junior player has been started and is about to complete. Players from all the registered cricket academies are being selected for the Pjl League Draft. Mentors of all teams will select the players on behave of the performance.

As you know there will be only six teams in the Pakistan Junior League in the 2022 Edition. The Names and T-Shirts are not finalized yet but will be updated in a couple of months.

PJL Draft system

Many significant events take place before and after the draft day, despite the fact that it typically receives the majority of the attention. For PSL supporters, this article aims to offer a clear explanation of the convoluted draught process.

I divided the entire draft process into three stages to make it easier to understand. Preparations for the draft day make up the first phase. The second phase is the day-long actual draft, which lasts for almost a full day, and the third phase is the interval between the conclusion of the draught and the beginning of the league.

Phase 1 (Pre-Draft Preparations)

The PJL draft process gets underway around September, following the conclusion of the regular season in October. Either the pick order for the subsequent draught or the updated categories for local players are the subject of the first official announcement. The team’s good fortune determines the pick order. The first Platinum picks in the first round are decided by a random draw or other similar activity in which chance plays a part. A “special statistical tool” is used to determine the pick order for the remaining 17 rounds.

The local player categories from the U19 City Cricket Association tournament 2022 are renewed in the meantime. Voting is how this renewal process is carried out. Except for players from their own franchises, representatives from each franchise vote for the categories of local players. A few PCB representatives then go over the updated categories and finalize them. Soon after, the list of players who are available for the draft is made public. As soon as this list is made public, teams begin exchanging players.

Phase 2 (Draft Day)

The day of the draft is the one that everyone in this process looks forward to the most. There are six categories and 18 rounds in the draft. These include 16 rounds with five-player categories each, as well as 2 additional rounds. Platinum, Diamond, Gold, and  Silver are the five-player categories. The highest category goes to players with the highest utility, and vice versa, even though there are no set standards for each category. Each local athlete who has represented Pakistan must be at least a Gold-level player.

Depending on how much of their remaining salary caps are available, a team may choose players from any category in the Supplementary rounds. Teams may also choose a player in a lower category with his consent. Each team receives one wildcard pick as well (optional). Using this, a team can make their Gold, Diamond, or Platinum pick from a player in one of the lower categories. Thus, for instance, if a team feels the need to choose a player from the Silver, Gold, or Diamond categories in the Platinum category, they may do so by using the wildcard (one only) and choosing him from a higher category than his original requirement.

A 16 to 18-man squad consists of the following number of players from each category:

Each category’s selection must be made in the manner outlined above. In the first three (Platinum) rounds, teams have two minutes for each pick; however, in the rounds that follow, they only have 90 seconds. When selecting these players, a team must adhere to the following squad combination rules:

• A Platinum category team must have a minimum of one foreign and one domestic player. The Diamond category is no different.
• At least three foreign players must be on a team to qualify for the Platinum, Diamond, and Gold categories (combined).
• A team’s 16-man roster must include at least five foreign players. In the Supplementary round, teams are allowed to select a sixth foreign player.

Phase 3 (Replacement Draft)

If a player from any team is unable to play, the replacement draught is held (partially or fully). Teams may choose a replacement player from a category no higher than the player being replaced. Teams are given a small additional salary cap for the replacement players.

The mid-season trading window is a little-known fact among fans. It is a 72-hour window that begins following the conclusion of each team’s four games. In this window, players who haven’t yet appeared in a game this season may be traded. With another team, they might be exchanged for a player, cash, or both. The number of active players on a team’s roster cannot be altered by more than two of these trades. There hasn’t been a trade-in this window yet.
