PJL T20 Venue 2022 – Pakistan Junior League Under 19

There are many venues for cricket in Pakistan, such as the National Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium, Pindi Stadium, Multan cricket stadium, Gawader Cricket Stadium, etc. But for the 1st edition of PJL just 01 venue is selected for the whole tournament and that is the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The tournament will start from 06 October to 21 October 2022, for this purpose the PJL drafting will schedule on 6 September 2022.

Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

Gaddafi Stadium, formerly known as Lahore Stadium, is a cricket stadium in Lahore, Pakistan that serves as the home ground of the Lahore Qalandars. The Pakistan Cricket Board owns it (PCB). It is Pakistan’s fourth largest cricket stadium, with a capacity of 27,000 spectators. Gaddafi Stadium was the first stadium in Pakistan to have modern floodlights with their own backup power generators. The Pakistan Cricket Board’s headquarters are located at Gaddafi Stadium, which also serves as the home of the Pakistan national cricket team.

History:

The stadium was built in 1959 and was designed by architect and civil engineer Nasreddin Murat-Khan, with Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company completing the construction. The stadium was originally known as the Lahore Stadium.

Nasreddin Murat Khan, a Russian-born Pakistani architect, and civil engineer designed it, and Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company built it in 1959. When it hosted the final of the 1996 Cricket World Cup, the stadium was renovated. In addition to Pakistan national games and international matches, the Gaddafi Stadium has hosted several Pakistan Super League matches, the first of which was the 2017 Pakistan Super League final. For sponsorship reasons, the PCB began the process of renaming the Gaddafi Stadium in March 2022.

• Lowest team total: 101, by Pakistan against Sri Lanka, 5 October 2019.
• Highest individual score: 104*, by Mohammad Rizwan (Pak) against South Africa, 11 February 2021.
