As part of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which will be held from 6-21 October at the Gaddafi Stadium, the headquarters of Pakistan cricket.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has named Sir Vivian Richards, one of the greatest cricketers in the West Indies. He will be a team mentor in the Pakistan Junior League to be held in October. King Viv was also named as one of the mentors for the team by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Javed Haji and Shahid Afridi are also part of the league mentoring team, along with Daren Sammy, Colin Munro, and Imran Tahir.
The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Junior League is set to take place from 6-21 October at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which serves as the headquarters of Pakistan cricket.
The 1960s and 1970s are regarded as the golden decades of world cricket thanks to the outstanding talent of Richards and Miandad and the match-winning performances they delivered. In their last game against each other, Pakistan won by four wickets with one ball remaining in the Nehru Cup final, which took place in Kolkata on 1 November 1989.
It is also important to note that Richards was also part of Quetta Gladiators’ campaign in six of the seven HBL Pakistan Super Leagues during the time in which he helped them win the title.
As one of Wisden’s five Cricketers of the Century in 2000, Richards was voted by the magazine as one of the greatest batsmen of ODI cricket and as the third greatest batsman of Test cricket by Wisden in December 2002. According to Wisden, when selecting the best Test team from 150 years of Test history in 2013, Richards was ranked number three on the list.
